The Public Human Services Attorneys (PHSA), an APHSA affinity group, is focused on providing resources for human services attorneys to help them in their professional development. The “Build Your Toolkit” (BYTK) series, now in its third year, is one such resource. It provides insights from professionals who share their wisdom and resources on how to be the best in the human services law sector.

This year, Ron Baze, General Counsel with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and PSHA Executive Advisory Council Member, along with Caroline Brown, Partner with Brown & Peisch, PLLC, and PHSA member, continue to expand the BYTK's writing section.

We believe that crafting an effective BYTK writing guide requires a collaborative effort. To maximize the guide’s impact, we aim to harness the collective wisdom of our legal writing community through a brief, five-question form. With sufficient participation, we can utilize technology to visualize our collective knowledge, making the results accessible and engaging for everyone. We invite all legal writers to contribute to this project by completing our short form.
